Biography : 

Xin finished his Ph.D. in Statistics in June, 2021 from the Department of Statistics and Data Science at Cornell University, advised jointly by Florentina Bunea and Marten Wegkamp. Prior to his Ph.D. study, he received a BS in Mathematics in 2013 from Shandong University, China and an MS in Statistics in 2016 from University of Washington, Seattle.

His research interest generally lies in developing new methodology with theoretical guarantees to tackle modern statistical problems such as high-dimensional statistics, low-rank matrix estimation, multivariate analysis, model-based clustering, latent factor model, topic models, minimax estimation, high-dimensional inference, statistical and computational trade-offs. He is also interested in applications of statistical methods to genetics, neuroscience, immunology and other areas.
