Description

Recent strides in Bayesian inference applied to intricate complex-structured datasets offer a unique opportunity to bring together disparate research communities in Canada and the US. In the current landscape, the development of statistical methods and Bayesian computing tools tailored to high-dimensional and large-scale complex data is of paramount importance within the realm of data science. The proposed conference serves as a conduit for idea exchange, fostering fruitful collaborations, particularly among young researchers. Notably, the workshop’s structure will revolve around tackling Big Data challenges across diverse scientific domains, with an emphasis on digital privacy, astronomical investigations, and climate change.

Scientific Committee: Radu Craiu (Toronto), James Flegal (UC Riverside), & Galin Jones (Minnesota).

Local Organizing Committee: Yichen Ji, Morris Greenberg, Ruyi Pan, KC Tsiolis, & Leo Watson.

Invited Speakers: Please email your title and abstract to fast.and.curious.statistics@utoronto.ca

Contributed and Poster Presentations: In addition to invited talks, the conference will also host contributed talks and posters. If you would like to give a contributed or poster presentation, please email your title and abstract before August 1st, 2025 to fast.and.curious.statistics@utoronto.ca. Please mention in your email if you would like to be considered for a contributed talk or a poster.
