 Friday, March 01, 2019 3:30 pm \n The Fields Institute \n 222 College St
 reet, Toronto, ON M5T 3J1 \n\nDescription: \nWhile scholars (and a few s
cientists) have been developing new methodological approaches for working
with historical data, there have been few forums or mechanisms to facilit
ate communication and collaboration among them, especially across signifi
cant disciplinary boundaries. Our “Workshop on Quantitative Analysis and t
he Digital Turn in Historical Studies' presents an innovative collaborativ
e opportunity for participants to share research, learn about cutting-edg
e research tools, and possibly begin to move towards a common understandi
ng of future directions in historical research after the digital turn. By
bringing together such a group, we aim to move from fragmented conversati
ons – held at a panel here or there across diverse conferences – into a co
hesive engagement conducted within a new inclusive, open, interdisciplin
ary community. Right now, community discussions are taking place across d
isparate sites and locations; we will bring scholars together into one ro
om in order to articulate a vision for the future.Event DetailsFull schedu
